Love for the Religion from childhood:
His parents did not have proper resources to feed the family of seven sons and two daughters. Due to the miserable economical condition of the family they gave Janardan to the church. This was the most distressing moment for the family because their Janya was to be given in the Church to make him Christian.
In those days, Adivasi Community disliked to be converted. They believed that the high class families should not accept the other religions. They loved their religion and their great and unique culture. Those who were related with the church had to face the boycott of the relatives and society. Those who had relations with them would then have to perform the Shuddhi Vidhi. The Shuddhi Vidhi was being performed by the Barawa or Bhagat i.e. a priest. The person who was to be purified must then give feast to the people. Little Janardan had heard about the missionaries that they convert the Adivasi people. He did not like the idea of converting one's religion, so he managed to run from the school. He stopped even going to the school. Many of the employees and residents of Church tried to persuade little Janardan to attend the school again but in vain. The priest Mr. Olson and Johnson tried to persuade Janardan. Olson tried too much to convert him. His decision was firm as rock. He remained firm on his decisions throughout his life.
